The Simpsons References in Futurama

Taken from Episode: A Big Piece of Garbage

Fry being proud of 20th Century Bart Simpson Dolls dumped in the garbage ball, since they are the essence of the 20th century...

Bender pulling the string, and Bart says, "Eat my shorts!", which is one of Bart's favorite catchphrase.

Bender preparing to do what Bart said, which is... to eat his shorts, heh.

Bender put Bart's shorts in his mouth and ate it, yum yum.

Bender saying "Mmm... shorts...", imitating Homer Simpson's favorite catchphrase other than "D'oh".

Taken from Episode: Fry and the Slurm Factory

Beginning gag of Futurama showing the Simpsons, which is an excerpt from the shorts, during the Tracy Ulman era/

Same thing but with a different picture on it, shows Bart, Lisa and Maggie looking in a mirror.

Taken from Episode: I Second that Emotion

When Nibbler chipped his teeth, Leela takes him to the vet to check it. Sitting next to Leela is a man petting a cat, and a cat petting a man. Both of the cats looks familiar, because they are based on Snowball, the family cat of the Simpsons. But Snowball is black, and this cat is brown.

Taken from Episode: Mars University

When Fry imagines about universities back in the "olden" days, he thinks about a circus fair that has a university game in it. Next to it, there is a shooting game where you shoot water into the clown's mouth. And guess what... the prizes are Homer Simpson and Bart Simpson dolls.

Taken from Episode: Leela's Homeworld

Leela found out that he was born in the sewer with mutant parents. The only way to go up the sewer to the normal world was through the hot air balloon below... As you can see, part of Bart's body was used to make this hot air balloon. Also with other characters from different cartoons that you might recgonize...

Take from Episode: My Three Suns

Fry went to a planet with Water People that populated the area. Fry became the king by killing the previous emperor. Look closely into Bender's sash around his body, the medal right above the cocktail drink. Looks familiar eh? It's the head of Homer Simpsons! Unbelievable...

Futurama References in The Simpsons:

Taken from Episode: HOMR

In a couch gag, the Simpsons family is trasfered to the couch through the "space tubes", Fry was transfered instead of Bart, therefore taking his place in the couch. Fry then is sucked back, and Bart comes down to watch TV.

Taken from Episode: Bart vs Lisa vs Third Grade

One day, Bart got a multi-function remote control. He watched TV the whole night and did not sleep for the test next day. During the test, he's to tired that he lost his mind, so he start changing people in the class into TV characters. As you see here, it is Bender from Futurama, and a creature called Pikachu.

After Bart changed everyone in the class into TV characters, they go into the center of the class and cheer for him. This picture shows Bender and a clown going for Bart.

Taken from Episode: Mayored to the Mob

In the Bi-Mon-Sci-Fi-Con Science fair, Lisa meets some nerds, they are Database, Milhouse, and Uter, which you can see that he is wearing a shirt with "Futurama" on it.

Taken from Episode: Catch 'em If You Can

In the video store during the first part of the episode where the Simpsons are trying to get a movie for the night, there are some posters on the wall advertising the videos. One of them is advertising Futurama, as you can see on the top left of the screenshot below.

Taken from Episode: My Big Fat Geek Wedding

When the Simpsons go to the Bi-Monthly Science Fiction Convention to track down Edna Krabappel and Comic Book Guy, they see Matt Groening who stars as the creator of Futurama (would look kinda wierd if he was the creator of the Simpsons). Below, you can see Milhouse trying to get Matt Groening to sign his Bender figurine.

After Matt Groening signed Milhouse's Bender figurine, he drew a picture of Fry for the little Futurama fan in the Spiderman costume. If you can't see the picture... look closer! It's the picture of Fry waving.

Taken from Episode: Missionary Impossible

When Homer became a missionary, it was actually part of the Fox's plan to raise funds for the network. As you can see below, Bender is here!.

Not only Bender is working for Fox, Mulder and Skully from the X-files and the guy from King of the Hill too. And many other characters that I cannot recgonize... Afterwards, they receive a call from Bart who is going to pledge ten thousand dollars to Fox. Bart, the same as Homer, lied to the network.

Taken from Episode: Future Drama

In yet another future Simpsons episode, there is a very funny Futurama reference. When Bart and Homer crosses the Quantum Tunnel, they end up with Bender inside their car. In this scene, Bender says, "You will be my best friend..." Just like the way he says it to Fry in Futurama!

But Homer doesn't like Bender at all. He replies with "Screw you, loser!", and throws Bender out of the car. Bender crashes on the road and end up in bits and pieces. Poor Bender, it seems that only Fry is his best friend after all.

There is one kind of food called Manwich in Futurama which consists of two pieces of bread with a piece of human meat... That's right, it's a sandwich with man in it! The following two videos shows the Manwich in both Futurama and the Simpsons. The first one is Hermes eating a Manwich, and the second one is Patty and Selma feeding Maggie a Manwich. Please be aware that these videos will also need the Divx codec which can be downloaded here.
