I WILL NOT WASTE CHALK

Storyline:

The family play Scrabble. All goes well until Bart cheats, pretending that 'kwyjibo'. Homer challenges him to define 'kwyjibo', and Bart responds. Homer is insulted by his definition and gives chase.

The next day at school, Mrs. Krabappel springs a surprise test on the children. Martin Prince finishes within a few minutes, and goes outside. Bart swaps his test paper with Martin's.

The next day, Bart is called to the office. Dr Pryor explains to him and Homer and Marge that Bart scored very well on the test. Bart is sent to a school for gifted children. Bart, of course, doesn't get on very well there. He decides to confess what he has done to his father, with hilarious results.

Memorable Conversations:

Bart: My turn. Kwyjibo. K-W-Y-J-I-B-O. 22 points, plus triple word score, plus 50 points for using all my letters...game's over. I'm outta here.
Homer: Wait a minute, you little cheater. You're not going anywhere until you tell me what a kwyjibo is.
Bart: Kwyjibo- a big dumb balding North American ape with no chin.
Marge: And a short temper.
Homer: I'll show you a big dumb balding ape! (chases Bart)
Bart: Uh-oh! Kwyjibo on the loose!

Genius Kid: [about Bart] A mediocre genius

Homer: Doc, this is all too much. I mean, my son a genius, how does it happen?
Dr. Pryor: Well, genius-level intelligence is usually the result of heredity and environment.
[Homer looks confused]
Dr. Pryor: But, in some cases, it's a total mystery.

Mrs. Krabappel: Now, I don't want you to worry class. These tests will have no affect on your grades. They merely determine your future social status and financial success -- if any.

Learning Co-ordinator: Bart, could you give us an example of a paradox?
Bart: Well, uh, you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't...

Notes:

Maggie's blocks were E-M-C-2? Martin and his parents were also at the opera.

Kwyjibo would be worth 26 points in the game of Scrabble, not 22 as Bart says.

The scrabble board changes between turns.

Homer couldn't have used his letters to spell OXIDIZE anyway because you have to build off what is already on the board.
